“The most authentic thing in life is movement, to deny that is to deprive yourself the essence of life.”- Kris Olivia
FITNESS

Everybody has a motivation for why they go to the gym or wake up in the morning and go for a run. It could be for mental wellness, physical health, a parent, or vanity. My blog post every Friday is meant to continue to fuel that motivation whether through exercise tips, workouts, educational articles, or just recipes that I find helpful. What I have or know about fitness is meant to be given away. I didn't get an Exercise Science degree from Hope College or become certified to be selfish. Fitness is apart of my life and I want it to be apart of yours as well.
In health,
Kris

Fitness made me. Fitness fuels me. Fitness rejuvenates me. Now I want fitness to speak to you. Fitness has given me sanity, belonging, confidence, and a demonstration of love to myself. But I wouldn’t be true to myself unless I dedicated this page to the women that taught me the value of movement. My Grandmother is my purpose. In October of 2013 I lost Nana. The doctor’s said it was cancer but I think she lost the will to live. At the end of her life she couldn't move. She couldn’t do the things that I take for granted. She wasn’t able to walk to the bathroom or sit up in bed. She had been taken from her home because she needed help doing all of those things. Her muscles had atrophied from lack of mobility. I always loved taking her for walks to the beach or holding her hand as she sat on the porch. My eyes are always focused on building walls around the pain that she felt from being confined to a bed. I wouldn’t love what I do if I didn't each day acknowledge her.
